HIV Self-Testing Project
HIV Self-testing project
Pahal Foundation implements STAR HIV Self Testing Project with an aim to understand how HIV self-testing can be made available to different populations in India. The project covers 700 KPs. HIV self-testing is when a person uses a rapid HIV test on themselves. With HIV self-testing the persons know their own HIV screening result first.
Under the STAR initiative, PATH India, along with its partners, is conducting a demonstration study called, “Accelerating access and uptake of HIV self-testing (HIVST) in India” with the support of community-based organizations and implementation partners in India.
The study offers HIV self-test kits online to those interested to take an HIV self-test. The HIV self-testing services offer to receive the kit by courier or can pick the HIV Self-Test kit in a nearby study site.
